…love does…

This next week try sharing love for others around you. After some heartfelt conversations with some of my students this week who expressed how they were hurting, stressed out, and frustrated, I realized that everyone can use some love and kindness because everyone is struggling with something. A smile in passing, genuine listening, completing a favor with no expectation in return, or a ‘thank you’ can go a long way.

Instead of thinking about what you need all the time, think about what the person in front of you may need. Ask yourself how can I be love to this person? Because love does. It has hands, feet, a voice, and a response in the form of you and me. It’s really easy to get wrapped up in our busy schedules, focus on our selfish needs, and keep going on our way without any thought of the people that we interact with during the day.

This next week find ways to do good for others and try putting others needs in front of your own.

  • Give a smile
  • Hold a door open
  • Write a thank you note
  • Ask someone how they are “really” doing
  • Buy someone coffee and catch up on life
  • Ask how you can help someone
  • Give a favor
  • Let that special someone know that you care about them
  • Buy someone flowers
  • Offer a compliment

“Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.” -1 Thessalonians 5:15

“The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself though love.” –Galatians 5: 6

  1. Your statements are all so very truthful…….may I also add that when you impart God’s love, it will be returned tenfold.
There have been times where I did not have the love or the patience or the willingness to serve others. I have had to ask the Lord, to use His love (that lives in me as a believer) to help me express love to others, (especially when I didn’t want to). Miracles have resulted. I challenge your readers to try it just once.
Blessings to each of you who respond to this challenge.
