…get back in the game…

Anyone else struggle with knowing that you are loved, but have a hard time loving yourself. I do all the time. I find things in my life that I beat myself up about and feeling that my life isn’t as perfect as everyone else’s. Besides comparing myself to what others look like or what they have, I sometimes feel just plain uninspired. Where does this lack of inspiration come from? Is it pure laziness or is it from feeling like I’m not good enough. I want to do more and be more to have an impact, but I just sit on the sidelines watching others make plays in the game. All the while saying I will get in the next time, but never do.

I will be the first to admit that there are times where I watch rather than play, but what do I need to do to get back into the game?

1. Create something new everyday. The ability to produce something from nothing is inspiring on its own. Whether it’s making a new recipe for dinner or crafting, get out there and create. Believe in yourself to produce something new and appreciate your work. It can inspire others to create too.

2. Gratitude. Any time you are feeling in a funk, think about what you have. I guarantee you will realize you’ve been blessed with more than you know what to do with it. By appreciating the good in your life, it will minimize the need to compare yourself to others.

3. Do something for you. Often we convince ourselves we are unworthy of love. Not true, so not true. We are worth every ounce of pampering, love, and affection that we can bestow on ourselves. Take the time to do something that benefits you whether it’s buying that beautiful statement necklace that you’ve been drooling over the past month or go for a walk and enjoy the warmth of the sun on your skin. Give yourself something or do an activity that will make yourself smile and feel good.

4. Go on an adventure. Sometimes changing your scenery or pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone can help get you moving. Adventures can breathe new life in us when we seek it. Living outside of our norm helps us grow and inspires us to constantly challenge ourselves. “We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” – Anonymous

These are small, but easy steps to get start feeling inspired again, to get back in the game, and make an impact wherever you are.
