In the blur of life it is easy to watch the hours, days, weeks, and months pass by only focusing on what you need, where you are going, and what you need to do to check things off your to-do list. I have a challenge for us this week and that is to take some time to go out of your way to be kind to others! For the next week, I have different random acts of kindness, thoughtfulness, and gratitude for you to challenge yourself to complete this week. If you have any other ideas, please post them in the comments below and let me know which ones you did.
- Leave a bag of candy in a co-workers mailbox with a note
- Pay for the person’s coffee behind you while you are in line at a coffee shop
- Give a compliment to another person at least once a day
- Mail someone who is going through a tough time a card filled with encouragement
- Pick three people that you want to commit to praying for every day this next week
- Write a note or make a phone call to your parents and tell them why they are so special
- Instead of taking the closest parking spot, pick the farthest spot to give others a better place to park
- Write a thank you note to a mentor or someone who has positively influenced you
- Pick up trash on the ground wherever you see it
- Call a friend that you have lost contact with and get caught up on life
- Don’t say anything negative or complain for one day and only say positive things
- Ask someone how they are doing and really listen to them
- Buy a gift card to your local grocery store and give to someone in need
- Clean out your closet and donate clothing items to a local shelter
- Say sorry to someone you have hurt
- When you see a serviceman/woman, shake their hand and tell them thank you for serving our country
