…Found in Translation…

The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.  Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11

….

The end is near.

Be ready.

Love each other.

Be willing to give without complaint.

Use your talents to share Jesus with others.

When you speak, keep close to the word of God and speak the things of God.

Serve in the areas that you are weak, so that God’s strength can be provided and Jesus can shine through you.

To Jesus Christ give the glory and reign forever!

Amen.

1 Pete 4:7-11

This week I encourage you to take a verse that has had an impact on you and translate it into your own words by really taking the time to understand what is being said by the words being used and the context that is in. This practice has helped me to understand more of how I can begin to incorporate God’s words into my everyday life. I would love to hear from you and how you translated verses in your own words by posting it to the comments section below or on my Facebook page.

Happy Translating!

  1. For four years, I dedicated my daily devotionals to doing just this. I now have a 260+ page word document of Bible verses in my own words. This ;process certainly helps one connect with what is being said, as well as make God’s word more relatable and personalalized. I’ve since moved on/adapted my devotionals to something different, but look forward to returning to these installments one day and again reflecting when I’m in a different place in my life.

Great minds think alike 😉 Keep the content coming!

  2. Hey Joe! Thanks for sharing and it’s really cool to hear that you do the same with personalizing verses! I hope someday you share those translations with others! -Brittany
