Do you ever wish that a “redo button” existed? A button that you could push and it would give you the option to redo whatever situation, thought, action that you so desired to do over again? Unfortunately, life does not operate that way. We have to live with the consequences of our actions and decisions whether positive or negative every day. Despite the consequences of the decisions made, we may not be able to go back and hit the redo button, but we can control how we respond or react to these consequences.
That is why I like sunsets and sunrises. It’s a reminder that we do essentially have a beginning and end to every day and with that new beginning and end have the opportunity to create change in our lives and move forward. The sunset reminds me that whatever I’m struggling with “this too shall pass” that there are ends to situations that we are in; mountains to climb and conquer only to stand at the top and look at the incredible view; and a light at the end of the tunnel to provide guidance and hope. A sunrise reminds me that there are always new beginnings; a fresh start to the day; a goal to pursue; a new adventure to experience. So watch a sunset to remind yourself that there are endings to every day and A sunrise that comes in the morning to remind us that we have a new start to the day.
God gave us a “fresh start button” spiritually when He gave His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins that we would be healed, made whole, and forgiven of our sins. He gave us the opportunity for a new beginning and a fresh start in building our relationship with Him. Why wait to make a decision for a new beginning or to hit the fresh-start button? That is a decision that can be made every morning with the sunrise and choosing to follow Christ.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
